Men and their mental health

"MEN are one of the most wondrous creations of the God."

Over the ages, people have been stepping up to stand up for women's and children's rights. But, a large section of the other part of the society remains unattended. Yes, we as a society have failed to value our men; who are just as important as any other being.

We have idealized the dialogue, "MARD KO DARD NAHI HOTA"; a man doesn't feel any pain. And amidst everything, we failed to let them be humans; humans with emotions that they express.

"IF A CRYING LITTLE BOY WAS COMFORTED, RATHER THAN TELLING HIM "LADKE ROTE NAHI HAIN", THERE WOULDN'T BE SO MANY MEN TRYING TO EMPATHIZE WITH EMOTIONS."

Men are facing abuse, mental disorders, domestic violence, depression-like any other gender out there. Society showed them that talking about mental issues, abuse, the violence they are facing will mark a question on their masculinity; as a result, they don't express what went wrong; ultimately tend to pay for the barbaric acts of others.

"FOLLOWING ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF DEPRESSION:"

1. ANGER

2. EASY IRRITABILITY AND MOOD CHANGES

3. INABILITY TO FOCUS/ CONCENTRATE

4. SUICIDAL THINKING

5. EXCESSIVE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL

6. EATING AND SLEEPING DISORDERS

7. HALLUCINATIONS ( having unreal sensations)

8. INABILITY TO SOCIALIZE

The question arises, HOW CAN YOU  FIGHT MENTAL ISSUES?

1.  Seek social support:   Talk to your friends, partners, family about the behavioral and emotional issues you are facing. Stay in touch with them.

2.   Mediate and Exercise: It improves memory, helps you sleep better, and boosts your overall mood.

3.  Read a good book that will help you to refocus your goals in life.

4.  Listen to music: It manages pain, stress, anxiety. And elevates sleep quality, mood, memory.

5.  Indulge yourself in some activity; so that you don't attract negative thoughts and increase your productivity.

TO ALL THE MEN OUT THERE, YOU DON'T HAVE TO STRUGGLE IN SILENCE.  Be un-silent and speak up about it, Just don't mask up your emotions to fulfill these worldly unrealistic expectations.

Let's comfort the men around us and tell them, "MARD KO BHI DARD HOTA HAI", it's ok to feel the pain, it's ok to cry, it has nothing to do with their masculinity.

Let's help them to fight the unsaid battles of their lives. Because THEY MATTER. Make sure that they don't suffer in silence.
